Bearing health assessment by vibration & acoustic sensors

• Bearing is one of the most critical components in the rotating machinery. Monitoring health of the bearing for life prediction is important to prevent failures and allow sufficient time for replacement.

• In the railway, vibration and acoustics are measured in the high-speed and freight car respectively. Health indices are developed, which are the weighted correlation of fault frequency amplitudes for vibraiton, and the sum of frequency energies with concentration for acoustics.
