Fault diagnosis of planetary gearbox in UAV

Crack fault diagnosis of planetary gearbox is conducted in the UAV using the built-in (motor current and position) and add-on (vibration) sensors respectively.
Signals are acquired for normal and cracked conditions. Faults are classified by extracting features and applying ANN. The results indicate the position (built-in) sensor outperforms the vibration (add-on) sensor in the classification performance.
