Of no doubt, the highlight of PHM is the Remaining Useful Life (RUL) prediction, which enables failure avoidance and optimum logistics. In order to accommodate the understanding with a simple example, the whole PHM process is demonstrated, using the vibrational signals collected for run-to-failure test of cooling fan bearing, which comprises the signal acquisition, feature engineering, health index construction, anomaly detection and RUL prediction.
